hi!

you can expect a mix of 2–3 case interviews plus a fit/experience discussion. The cases are usually practical, quantitative, and energy‑focused, think decarbonization levers, renewables economics, hydrogen, grid challenges, or market design. The format is interviewer‑led but still allows you to drive the structure. You’ll likely see one classic strategy case, one operations/market sizing case, and one energy‑specific scenario. Fit questions focus on teamwork, ownership, and why energy transition. Overall, it’s structured but friendly, and very aligned with real project work.

Best, Alessa

Congrats on the OW Superday.

Format is usually 3 to 4 cases plus 1 fit interview, spread over 4 to 6 hours in one day. Sometimes a group exercise or written case.

Energy Transition cases lean operational. Power markets, decarbonisation strategy, renewables project economics, hydrogen, EV electrification, carbon markets. Math is grounded in energy economics, LCOE, IRR, payback, capacity utilisation.

Learn the vocabulary, LCOE, capacity factor, capex vs opex for renewables, PPA, scope 1/2/3 emissions. Read 3 to 5 recent OW Energy Transition reports.

Have a sharp "why Energy Transition" answer, they hire specialists not generalists.

Treat every interaction as part of the interview. Stay sharp across the full day.

Good luck.

Congrats! That's an amazing opportunity.

The way Superdays are organised varies a lot from firm to firm and between regions, and sometimes the format can also change from year to year as they try different variations.

It's perfectly fine to reach out to the recruiter and ask them for more info on how the event is structured. And, if you happen to know people who attended it in past years, it might make sense to get in touch with them too.

Best,
Cristian
