Based on the feedback I’ve been hearing from several of my coachees, recruiting seems to have slowed down quite significantly across the MBBs in the Middle East.

The broader macroeconomic situation in the region does not seem to be helping at the moment either. Hopefully things will improve again in Q3/Q4 if market conditions stabilize and demand picks up.

*20% discount for first session* Big4, xBCG, xS& I 200+ real interviews I Associate to Manager level

Depends whether you are a fresh graduate or experienced profile. Regardless, combination of summer time and uncertainties in the market, best to position strongly in q3/q4. Take the time to network with the right people in the meantime.

Good luck !

hi!

Right now the Middle East is still hiring, just more selectively than the boom years. The big Vision‑2030 programs continue, but firms are being careful with headcount. Riyadh is the most active, Dubai is very competitive, and Abu Dhabi/Doha fluctuate depending on projects. Strong profiles, referrals, and any regional experience help a lot.

Middle East has slowed. Riyadh is still hiring but heavily prioritises Saudi nationals. Dubai has cooled, with many roles filled through referrals before posting. Doha and Abu Dhabi are more stable but selective.

Cold applications have low conversion right now. Referrals are doing the work. Arabic speakers, public sector, energy transition, and AI profiles still get through.

Tier 2 firms and in-house strategy at PIF portfolio companies are good alternatives.

Good luck.
