McKinsey Solve Game - June 2026 - Paris

Question

Hi everyone,

I just got invited to take the SOLVE Game for McKinsey (Junior Associate application - Paris Office), and I see a lot of different information online.

I was wondering if anyone knows which games they use now ? My test duration is 85 minutes.

I would welcome any tips or information to this regard.

The best source to start with is always McKinsey's own materials: the Solve page and FAQs illustrate the current format directly (you have a 6 min video with a snapshot of the game). A lot of the older material online from other sources still describes the legacy games (Ecosystem, Plant Defense), which are no longer the standard.

The current Paris Solve with 85 minutes is almost always Redrock plus Sea Wolf. You get one ecosystem‑mapping research game and one resource‑allocation simulation. The decile you receive later is a percentile inside your specific version, not an absolute score, so raw numbers vary. Focus on calm structure: in Redrock write only what helps you solve the final case, in Sea Wolf start with ranges and refine. If you want, I can walk you through a short Solve prep flow.

Contrary to what other coaches have said, the McKinsey Solve pre-interview assessment currently consists of three parts: Redrock Island (35 min.), The Sea Wolf (35 min.) and Sustainable Futures Lab (15 min.).

An 85-minute invitation means you will play all three current modules:

Redrock Study (35 min): A quantitative case study analyzing data, running percentage/growth calculations, picking graphs, and solving short case scenarios.
Sea Wolf (30 min): A constraint-logic module where you evaluate microbe attributes against strict parameters for multiple sites.
Sustainable Futures Lab (20 min): A situational judgment game testing decision-making under uncertainty and trade-offs.

Brush up on mental math and percentages for Redrock, and focus on structured, methodical clicks rather than rushing, as McKinsey tracks your thought process.
