McK referral form

What does McK's internal referral form/portal entail? Are you asked to explain why this candidate would be a good fit in words? Are you asked how you know this person? (Previous colleague, classmate etc.and does the type of connection matter?) Could someone pls demystify this?

It varies by office where the global referall portal is super out-dated and hardly used (as far as I know from end of 2020). In most cases, the consultant would email the recruiting team with the candidate's CV and a little context but nothing extensive.

Do you still have to fill out an online application regardless of whether the resume is sent to HR/uploaded on referral portal?

Hey there,

Agree with Ken. Never even used this portal and referred a ton of candidates directly with the HR person I was closest to with the following information:

  • From where I know the person
  • Why I think the person could be a good fit (based on discussions, observations during an event, or some fact on the resume)

Cheers,

Florian

Hi there,

I agree with Ken here - referrals for McK are generally done by forwarding your info to HR with a short blurb.

For other companies, referrals either happen via HR or through a portal. If through a portal, there is generally an open text box allowing for a candidate description.

Hello!

It totally depends by office.

In any case, if that is asked for, don´t worry, since it´s not your task.

At most, you will be asked by the referrer to write a couple of lines about yourself, that he/she can then copy or forward. That is pretty common practice

Hope it helps!

Cheers,

Clara
