MBB Interview dress code

since there are more options for formal attire for women, I was wondering if it’s necessary to wear a suit for the interview? Can you wear a formal shirt or top? Is a blazer over it recommended?

Frankly it really depends on the location. Some MBB offices are much more relaxed with dress code than others. Generally speaking, if it's an in-person interview, it never hurts to have a suit jacket which you can take off during the interview.

Hi there,

My general rule of thumb is that it's far better to dress up one level too far than dress one level too far down.

When in doubt, dress up! That said, I'll leave it to other to comment more on what exactly you should wear to the interview as a woman!

Hey there,

In-person definitely go for the suit. If the interview is virtual as is still the case for most firms and offices you can go in a bit more ‘leisurely'.

In any case, best reach out to HR and ask about the dress code for the interview for your specific situation. They are happy to help!

Cheers,

Florian

Hello,

It will depend on the office area you are interviewing for, but I would recommend wearing a suit. You can always take the blazer off and stay in your formal shirt for the interview itself.
