If I understand your question correctly, you are trying to understand whether this alternative initiative would also be worth considering. 

The short answer is yes. 

The longer answer is that you should think of the interview as a conversation you're having with the interviewer (who is basically the client disguised). That means that you should be free to suggest ideas which our out of the box and propose them as emerging hypotheses you could alternatively consider.
