I interviewed for the visiting associate on August 4 and still haven’t heard back. Should I assume they chose not to continue with my application?
Its been 2 week since my BCG Riyadh R1, does that mean I am rejected?
Hi,
Two weeks of wait is still quite reasonable, especially for earlier rounds, so I wouldn’t assume it’s a no. They might simply have to finish interviewing other candidates who applied for the same role.
I’d wait few more days and then follow-up with the recruiting team.
Best,
Federico
Hi there,
I would not make that assumption until I've heard the official rejection.
2 weeks is still within a typical range I've had candidates wait for, but it may be even longer.
Would suggest to wait a couple of days more then follow-up politely.
I talk about exactly this and what to do in my article:
Haven't Heard Back After Your Interview? Here's What To Do!
All the best!
hey there :)
Not necessarily. Two weeks without an update from BCG Riyadh does not automatically mean you were rejected. Recruiting timelines can vary, especially in the Middle East, and internal alignment can sometimes take longer than expected.
If you haven’t already, I’d send the recruiter a short, polite follow up asking whether there is an update on your application. At this point, I wouldn’t assume anything based solely on the delay.
Best, Alessa :)
Hi there,
First of all, congratulations on the progress in the application process with BCG thus far!
I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:
- First of all, contrary to what other coaches have said, there are no silent rejections happening with almost all consulting firms. You will be provided with feedback one way or another, and currently, your only task is to wait and keep preparing for interviews, whether with BCG or other consulting firms.
- Moreover, contrary to what other coaches have said, following up to ask about an update to your application is pointless since the recruiting department would have already reached out to you if there would be any. Still, it is meaningful to follow up and ask when you will receive an update to your application,
If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming final-round BCG interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.
Best,
Hagen
Hi there,
The longer the time, the lower the odds. But, the odds are not zero until you officially hear back.
Since it's been 2 weeks I think it's perfectly fair to reach out to the recruiter.
Most important thing you can do after any interview is move on/forward. Keep networking. Keep applying. Keep interviewing.
Fingers crossed for you!
