Is 510 a good score on McKinsey PSG?

Hi everyone. I emailed the recruitment coordinator to enquire about my Solve assessment since there seemed to be a system glitch that kept sending me reminders to complete the assessment after I’ve already finished the it. I was told that my score is 510. I don’t know where I fit generally or relatively and would really appreciate some insight. I’m applying for a Middle East office.

Does anyone have an idea how good/bad 510 is?

Edit: I now know that my score is “decile 7”.

Hi,

A score of 510 is better than average. The top 10% scores above 525.

The average passing rate of the PSG is about 20%-30%, meaning the minimum score to pass is about 510-515.

A topscore is mainly based on the outcome of the 2 major games:

  • Ecosystem Building: have 8 out of 8 species remain alive in the end.
  • Plant Defense: making 30–38 turns in the first two rounds and more than 42–48 turns in the third round.

Hope this addtional information helps.

Kind regards,

Mattijs
