Back to overview

Interviewed with Bain Iberia 15 days ago (13th May) and haven’t heard anything back. Sent a follow up yesterday on the 2 week mark. Safe to assume I’ve been rejected they just don’t tell you? I was under the impression that they called to give feedback. Thanks in advance

Hi,

I wouldn’t panic yet. They will definitely get back to you either way. Two weeks is not unusual, especially if they’re still aligning internally or finishing other interviews.

The best thing you can do now is exactly what you already did: send a polite follow-up asking for an update. No news does not automatically mean bad news. A lot of the time it’s just internal delays that are completely outside your control.

At this point, I’d just stay patient and avoid overinterpreting the silence.

Best,
Franco

Thanks for the comment, but I want to clarify that this was a first round interview (back to back case + fit with two different interviewers)

Take a breath. 15 days of silence isn't a confirmed rejection.

Bain Iberia usually aims for 5 to 10 business days after final round, but 2 weeks is more common than people think, especially in late May with summer approaching. Delays happen, Partner debrief scheduling, batch comparisons, recruiter capacity.

Your follow-up yesterday was the right move, professional and well-timed. It won't hurt your chances.

Bain does tend to call with feedback, both for offers and rejections, so if you reached final round, expect a call eventually.

Wait another 5 to 7 days. If still nothing, send one more gentle nudge. Don't escalate to multiple people.

Keep other pipelines moving.

Good luck.

Hi there,

Silent rejections are not part of the process.

Meaning, two things could've happened:

* either they genuinely forgot about you, which I doubt

* they need more time because something came up (unsure whether they're hiring more, HR went on vacation, interviewers went on vacation, etc.)

Give it another week or two before you follow-up for the last time.

Hope you hear back from them soon!
Best,
Cristian

I wouldn’t assume rejection yet.

15 days feels long when you’re waiting, but for Bain it’s not unheard of, especially depending on:

  • office workload
  • interviewer availability
  • internal discussions/headcount

Also, the fact you sent a follow-up yesterday was perfectly reasonable.

On the feedback point: yes, Bain often does give feedback calls, especially after later rounds, but timing and communication quality can vary a lot by office and by recruiting situation.

If it turns into 3–4+ weeks of silence, I’d start becoming more cautious. But at 15 days, I honestly think it’s too early to conclude anything definitive.

So for now:

  • good that you followed up
  • don’t panic yet
  • but also continue with other applications/processes in parallel rather than waiting passively

hi there!

A 15‑day silence after Bain Iberia interviews is not an automatic rejection. That office is known for slow timelines, especially when partners are travelling or staffing needs shift. If you were rejected, you would usually get a formal email; Bain doesn’t “ghost” candidates after interviews. At this stage it simply means your case is still in the review queue. Your follow‑up was the right move, and now it’s just a waiting game, the outcome isn’t implied by the delay.
