Imbellus Game Question

I took my McKinsey Imbellus test yesterday. I go to a non-target school, however I have had two corporate internships (AT&T, and JPMC). My first question is did my resume pass the screening check if I got the invite for the game?

My next question is how did I do on the game if in the Ecosystem design all my species survived and in the Plant Defense game in the first round I was able to fend off aggressors for about 5 subseqent rounds and as the game progressed I was able to keep it off up to the required amount. With those results did I pass and how does this look to help me?

Hey there,

  1. Yes, once invited to the game you have passed the screening stage
  2. If you managed to create a sustainable ecosystem, that is definitely positive. For the plant defense, I am not sure what you mean. So in the first round, you only lasted for 5 turns? That would not be ideal, however, if you managed to learn from your mistake and in the 2 subsequent rounds lasted much longer, that would show adaptability, which is also valued by the game.

Keep in mind that in addition to your outcome produced (product score), you will also be evaluated on 100+ parameters on your approach and method (process score), so it is always tough to say from the outside if a candidate passed or not.

You should know within 1 week (usually) or 2 weeks (max).

Fingers crossed!

Cheers,

Florian

Hi there,

1) Yes, you did pass the screening check if you received the Imbellus test.

2) I'm not going to beat around the bush here - 5 rounds is not good at all.

3) Remember, this assessment is hollistic and doesn't just depend on an exact set of conditions - rather it depends on a range of factors including how you went about solving the game.

4) We really can't say whether you passed or failed. I know this isn't the answer you want (and it's easier said than done), but you really just have to take a wait-and-see approach!

See this Q&A for someone who failed even after surviving 22 rounds (and explanations as to what matters):

Fingers crossed for you!
