Hi there,
Firstly, congrats on getting to the online assessment! This means you have a great shot at landing a role with BCG Platinion.
If you are applying for the most common Platinion role (IT consultant), the online assessment will mainly be testing your Problem Solving skills and your "digital" technical expertise. This is done through timed multiple-choice + short-answer questions that simulate a business case. If you're applying for an engineering /data/developer role - the assessment will be more like HackerRank.
I'll assume you're applying for the most common role.
In this case, the best way to prepare is to practice doing business cases that have a technical / IT angle to them. It is crucial that you practice this with someone - that can be a friend who has consulting experience (ideally in MBB), or a coach. This is where you start! :)
Once you make it through the assessment, make sure you also practice for the Fit interview - that will be an equally important interview portion at that stage.
I hope this helps!
Sincerely,
Thor
Thank you so much for the reply, I truly appreciate it.
The role is Visiting Associate, which is considered to be their internship.
To be honest I have been looking for useful&reliable resources to practice IT/Digital cases but I didn't find a specific well-reputed resource. Most of them are dedicated to management consulting cases.
Do you happen to know any website/course/coach/platform or any resource that can be useful for my specific need? And thanks again for your time.
I know there are 2 Platinion cases available on PrepLounge, which is good start. I also happen to have been a McKinsey Digital EM myself, so I have a few cases we could practice together if you'd like.
Unfortunately I don't know about a great expansive library of digital/IT cases online - sorry about that. But, when it comes to coaches, there are likely plenty of great ones on PrepLounge. Just make sure that when you check their profiles, they have been involved in Digital/AI in their career - e.g., with BCG Platinion, BCG Gamma, McKinsey Digital, Quantum Black.
Hope this helps a bit!
Sincerely,
Thor
