how many days after solve game at Mckinsey they send the result?

I participated in the Solve Game on January 23rd and am applying for a Business Analyst position in the Brazil office. I received the diversity questionnaire four days after participating in the Solv Game, but I haven't received any response regarding the selection process yet.

Hi there,

McKinsey typically communicates Solve Game outcomes within about 1–2 weeks, but timelines can vary by office and hiring volume. For some candidates, especially in larger or busier offices like Brazil, it can take up to 2–3 weeks.

Receiving the diversity questionnaire a few days after Solve is a normal administrative step and doesn’t indicate a pass or fail on its own. It usually means your application is still active in the system.

At this stage, not having heard back yet is very normal and does not signal a rejection. If you haven’t received an update after around two full weeks, a short, polite follow-up to the recruiter is reasonable.

In the meantime, it’s a good idea to start light interview prep so you’re ready if the invite comes.

Best,

The anxiety you're feeling is completely understandable—the waiting game is arguably the worst part of the process.

Here’s the reality of how these timelines work, especially in high-volume global offices like Brazil: there is no fixed standard. The four-day window where you received the diversity questionnaire is not a result notification; that is typically an automated administrative step that fires off once your submission is officially logged. It tells you nothing about the quality of your Solve score.

The actual delay happens because the recruiting team needs to batch and review your Solve score in context with your full application (CV, transcripts, etc.). They don't review every submission immediately and individually. They wait until they have a critical mass of high-scoring candidates for the region, manually confirm those scores, and then move the entire accepted group forward for interviews. This batch processing can take anywhere from two weeks to sometimes six weeks, depending on the recruiting cycle volume and internal capacity. You are essentially waiting for the entire regional cohort to be finalized.

Since you have zero control over the calendar, you need to use this window strategically. Stop worrying about the email notification timeline. Assume you scored well enough to pass, and pivot 100% of your focus into intensive case and Personal Experience Interview (PEI) preparation. The biggest mistake candidates make is allowing themselves to relax during this holding pattern. Use this time to book at least two full mock case interviews every day until you hear back.

All the best!

Typically 10-14 days.

But there are variations between regions and cycles, so don't read too much into it.

If you do get to the 1 month mark, that's when I would definitely send a polite follow-up to HR to ask about the status of the application.

Hope you get good news soon and do try and use the time until then to develop other applications!

Best,
