No, not in MBB.

And even the CV/Cover Letter is oftentimes NOT known to the interviewer. For example, Bain actively forbids their interviewers in many European Offices to even look at the candidate CV (to prevent any biases).

Cheers, Sidi

Hi there,

In most offices, interviewers have access only to your CV. MBB try to prevent interviewers to be biased in any form.

Good luck!

Hi there,

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

  • First of all, at most consulting firms, interviewers are typically given only the resume and cover letter of their interviewees. The main focus is on your experience, skills, and fit with the company, rather than specific dates or details from your educational background.
  • Moreover, some firms, like Bain, have introduced “blind” first round interviews to further reduce unconscious biases from their interviewers. In these interviews, they are not even provided the resume and cover letter of their interviewees. Furthermore, candidates are asked not to mention specific names such as universities or past employers during the self-introduction.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Hi there!

No, they don't. At least in most offices.

They basically receive your CV and Cover Letter. It's part of the effort of removing bias in the process.

Best,
Cristian

Hi,

If these were uploaded into the Applicant Tracking System, then theoretically your interviewers could request for copies of them.

But practically, no, they will not have them during the interview. At BCG we were only provided your CV/CL.

All the best!

Usually not, correct. Some offices even experiment with “blind” interviewing to reduce biases, so not even university is beeing disclosed / blacked out from CV. Best, Frederic

Nope. And more often than not they won't even see your cover letter.

I was usually only provided with the CV before interviewing a candidate. HR didn’t share anything further. Now that’s my own experience but it seems to align with what others are saying too.
