CV - suggestions

Hi everyone, I recently applied to Bain/McKinsey/BCG and didn’t progress (screening/assessment). I’m planning to reapply later this year and want to strengthen my CV. Would anyone with MBB experience be willing to share suggestions on what typically makes a CV pass screening and stand out in interviews?

Hey Dario!

Tbh I see some red flags (form MBB recruiting) which I would point out to in my session, e.g., too little experience (diversity in experience for MBB), grades missing, formatting, etc.

let me know if you are interested in talking!

Best, Alessa

Hi Dario,

I suggest you working directly with a coach to get sharp and insightful feedback on your CV. This is a service that is provided by most coaches here on the platform. Q&A forum is reserved for broader questions regarding consulting.

Ex-McKinsey EM & Interviewer | 8+ years of coaching experience | Detailed feedback | 50% first mock interview discount

Hi Dario,
Greetings from a fellow Camino piligrim! I also hiked the full 1000+km of Camino Frances and it was a tranformative experience.
Happy to go through this line-by-line in a 1-on-1 coaching session. I also have a 50% discount for the first session.
In terms of general advice on CV, I'd aim to re-frame each bullet to show your achievement and skills: "Led ABC work to achieve XX% result by using XYZ skills".

Hi Dario,

Welcome to PrepLounge! 😊
I would generally advise against posting your CV publicly here, as this is still a public forum and your resume contains personal information.

A more effective approach would be to work directly with a coach who offers CV reviews. You can find and filter relevant coaches in the coach overview here:

Many coaches also offer a short free intro call, which is a great way to check whether there is a good fit and whether you could work well together.

Best of luck with your preparation, and welcome again to PrepLounge!

Hi Dario,

I’d suggest working directly with a coach to get targeted feedback on your CV. This is something most coaches on the platform offer and it’s usually much more effective than forum feedback for this kind of question.

That said, I do see some clear areas where your CV could be improved, and getting one-on-one feedback would help you address them quickly and effectively.

Best,
Evelina
