Consulting Firms - SEA

Hi,

Are there any consulting firms (MBB and/or boutiques) in Singapore which may sponsor VISA for entering as an entry-mid level consultant (2 years of experience)? From what I know about Singapore it is almost impossible.

Is the any other country in the region, South East Asia, or Asia in general, where the situation is different, and they might hire expats (no local language knowledge)? if yes, which countries and firms would you suggest to target?

Many thanks in advance

Hi!

I'm not sure about SE Asia, but if you're open to the rest of Asia more broadly, I know that the Middle East (in particular, Dubai) tends to recruit heavily from abroad. Knowledge of Arabic can be an advantage but is not necessary by any means. Work culture tends to be fairly similar to Singapore. Pay is often better.

I know the Dubai landscape fairly well, so if that's of interest to you, feel free to reach out and we can speak further!

Hi there,

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your questions:

  • First of all, securing a visa sponsorship in Singapore is most likely quite challenging at the moment.
  • Moreover, looking beyond Singapore, other countries have been increasingly open to hiring international applicants for consulting roles.
  • Lastly, I would advise you to reach out to the recruiting teams directly to know for certain.

You can find more on this topic here: Boutique consulting companies.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Hi,

For Singapore, yes it's almost impossible currently, especially for MBB/T2 firms.

Within SEA, you can try targeting the other fast growth offices i.e. Vietnam, Manila, Thailand or KL.

I wrote about this in my article - feel free to check it out:

Hi there,

Without local language or some very specific skill set that is require and not available, it's almost impossible.

Middle East could be a good alternative eventhough it has also become much more competitive these days.

Cheers,

Florian
