As you might expect, it's not a set of questions that pop up in every interview.

I would recommend two things, though:

  • Have a chat with the recruiter to understand what sort of questions they are looking at - for instance, try to understand whether they are motivation based, story based, etc...
  • Have a chat with people who recently started there (<1y of tenure). You don't need to ask them what questions they received in the interview, but rather how they went about their interview prep in order to be at their best

Best,
Cristian

Visa Client Success interviews test three things. Payments domain knowledge, client management, and problem-solving.

Common questions to expect.

Domain. "Walk me through how a credit card transaction works." "What are merchant pain points today?" "How do interchange fees work?"

Behavioral. "Tell me about a difficult client relationship you turned around." "Time you used data to drive a client decision." "Time you handled an escalation."

Case-style. "A large merchant wants to switch to a competitor, how do you retain them?" "A merchant complains about high cost of acceptance, how do you respond?"

How to prep. Read Visa's annual report and PYMNTS or Finextra for industry context. Learn the vocab, interchange, MDR, acquirer, processor, tokenisation. Have 5 to 7 STAR stories ready. Practise 5 to 10 merchant-flavoured cases out loud.

Why Visa specifically vs Mastercard or Stripe will come up. Have a sharp answer.

Good luck.

I took a quick look at the JD of this particular role.

The role is actually more like a relationship manager/post-sales support, rather than a strategy consulting role (e.g. Visa Corporate Strategy).

Based on the required capabilities - I would assume a big part of the interview questions would revolve around behavioural and situational questions (e.g. scenario based) w.r.t client interaction & engagement.

All the best!
