Hi everyone,
I have a bit of an eclectic CV which includes 1,5 years of consulting experience (>10 years ago), a Finance PhD with some time spent in academia, as well as about two years of industry experience in a finance role. My goal is to be CFO at a PE-backed company. To get there, I feel I need a stronger base in the nuts and bolts of finance and FP&A and to get that experience fast, my plan is to apply for roles at restructuring-focused consultancies (think RB, AlixPartners, FTI-Andersch, SMP). Alternatively I'm looking at PE Ops roles with finance focus (think Aurelius, Mutares).
I'm looking for a coach who can help me prepare and who has experience in restructuring and coporate finance. Given that I'm applying as experienced hire, I'm not just looking for case prep but ideally someone who has experience in restructuring/turnaround and who can help me get up to speed on the culture & lingo of these firms (ideally in German).
Happy to hear your thoughs on this and/or let me know if you are a coach with such experience. Thanks a lot!
