Hi!

I'm sure that you could find lots of avenues just by googling it.

But my tip would be to just throw yourself into a difficult, modelling heavy project in your first 6 months.

That will be difficult but it will also be a tremendous learning experience. Emerging from that project, everything will feel a lot easier.

Plus, whatever happens in the first six months they don't really hold against you at the performance review because you're still at the beginning.

Best,
Cristian

Hi,

Congratulations on your upcoming role in a Big 4 consultancy! Excel proficiency is often a crucial skill in consulting. Here are some free resources to help you improve your Excel skills from a basic/intermediate level to a more proficient level:

Microsoft Excel Online:

  • Microsoft offers free Excel tutorials and training on their official website. These cover everything from basic functions to more advanced features.

YouTube Tutorials:

  • YouTube has numerous Excel tutorials by channels like "ExcelIsFun," "MyOnlineTrainingHub," and "Excel Campus." They provide step-by-step guidance on various Excel functions.

Excel Easy:

  • Excel Easy (www.excel-easy.com) offers free online tutorials with examples, exercises, and explanations for Excel functions and features.

Also as Cristian says, try to get a project with a lot of Excel in it.

Cheers,

Alexandre

Ex-McKinsey AP | Training top candidates to perform at MBB level and win the offer

Hi there,

On top of great online resources shared by my colleagues, the best way to master Excel is joining a heavy analytical first project in your new position. While Big4's have onboarding programs where you learn Excel (and other) basics, real hands-on training is the best way to learn.

Best

Alberto
