BCG Summer Internship - McK Co-Op

I received a Co-op (4-5 Month Full-time Internship during school semester) offer from McKinsey as a Solution Delivery Analyst. It wouldn’t overlap at all with the BCG Summer Internship position but my main worry is that it would extend my graduation date by a year. On top of that, I also don’t know what it would affect if I were to receive a full-time offer. Would I still be able to receive a full time offer for the year after?

On the other hand, though, I think it would be a good resume buffer if I don’t get a full-time offer at BCG and have to reapply.

Is it a good idea, or even plausible, to accept the McK Co-op and do both?

Hi,

Accepting both is I think a great opportunity. Go for it, it will open more choices in the future for you.

Cheers

Hi Samy,

If it were me?

I would probably accept the Co-op and do both.

Then, when/if BCG gives me a full-time offer, I would assess my options then (asking for start date delay, cancelled the McK Co-op, etc.)

Well done on 2 amazing opportunities!

Hi Samy,

Q: Is it a good idea, or even plausible, to accept the McK Co-op and do both?

If you are fine with (i) delaying graduation and (ii) working as Solution Delivery analyst, I don’t see any issue with accepting both internship offers.

If you don’t want to delay graduation, I would reach out to McKinsey to check if they could postpone the internship to a later stage – in this way if BCG doesn’t offer a full-time position, you could still use it as a backup.

Best,

Francesco

Hi Samy!

You have lots of great options before you.

In short, if they give you a full-time offer, you can always defer it, so I would definitely go for this opportunity.

Good luck!
Cristian

Hi Samy, I would do both :) but it's a trade-off as others mentioned to be aware about. Warm regards, Frederic
