BCG SEA - When to resign from your current job

Hi all,

I just got an offer with BCG and currently in the process of background check. I have consistent employment history and good professional references.

Should I wait for the background check to be over before resigning or i can confidently resign now? Thanks!

Congratulations on the offer!

Short answer, feel free to resign unless you’re concerned about something in your history eg criminal records etc. it’s mostly a formality.

You can probably resign now, although the safest bet would be to wait until the background check comes back, just to be 100% sure there's no mistake/anomaly.

I'm almost certain that the background check will go well based on your description, but you never know.

So don't quit.

Wait. It shouldn't take that much longer.

It's best to have a signed contract in front of you before you let go of alternatives.

I truly think safest route would be just to wait! (But you're probably in the clear).

You can literally resign the same hour you get your final approval!

If you didn't misrepresent yourself, you have nothing to worry about in my opinion.

I would wait for the contract to be signed and returned before resigning. While it almost never happens that a firm would renege, I would just wait just to be sure.
