BCG SEA : Waiting to hear back

Question

Hi,

I completed my final rounds for BCG Indonesia about 12 days back. I have not heard back from BCG and the HR has not responded to my follow up email too. I see the portal still shows 'Interview in Progress'

1) How long does it take to get back?

2) Is it okay to mention that I have another offer and would like to know the outcome as soon as possible or would that jeopardise the results?

Hey, sorry about this. I know the wait is agonising.

No response for a couple of weeks is normally a little on the longer side, but not unheard of. They may still be interviewing other candidates before they hand out offers; the process is very opaque, so it's hard to tell.

I would send a polite message to the recruiting team mentioning your circumstances. In this instance, since you have another offer, they may be able to accelerate the process.

Feel free to reach out and do mention your situation regarding the other offer, that is actually common to happen.

Sorry to hear about this. I know the wait is rather difficult. I also went through the same after my final round with McKinsey.

It sounds like you followed up with them already, and unless you do have another offer than you need to respond to soon, I would just wait now.

Typically, the delays take place because your interviewers have not yet managed to get on a call together and decide on your case.

Hi, I used to be in BCG SEA.

Unfortunately, sometimes the process can lapse. I would say 1-3 weeks would be the norm for SEA.

Secondly, it is perfectly okay to leverage another offer (if its true), it would not jeopardize the results.

BCG SEA can sometimes take 1–3 weeks post-final round, especially if decisions are being aligned regionally or internally discussed. 12 days is still within normal range, though follow-ups are fine.
Yes, you can mention another offer, just do it politely: say you're very keen on BCG, but wanted to be transparent and would appreciate any update if possible. It won’t hurt your chances if framed respectfully.
