This is for a European office
Bain AC final round on Wednesday 10th June towards EoD. When can I expect to hear back? Does it change depending on if it’s an offer/rejection?
Hi there,
For a European office, the most common timeline is 1 to 7 business days, though some offices move even faster.
In my experience:
- If the interview team is fully aligned, offers can come within 24–48 hours.
- If there are calibration discussions, multiple candidates being compared, or a partner debrief pending, it can take several days.
I would not read too much into the timing. While very fast responses are often positive, I've seen candidates receive offers after a week and rejections after a day, and vice versa.
If you haven't heard anything after 5 business days, it's perfectly reasonable to send a polite follow-up to recruiting. If I were in your shoes, I would try to enjoy the weekend!
Best of luck
Bain typically gets back within 2 to 5 business days for AC final rounds in Europe, sometimes faster.
Offers usually come faster, often within 24 to 48 hours. Bain likes to call with offers personally, often the day after the final or the next morning. Sometimes even the same evening if you finished late.
Rejections take a bit longer, usually 3 to 5 business days. Internal debrief, comparison with other candidates in the batch, and HR coordination add time.
Borderline outcomes take the longest. If they're discussing your file, you may not hear for a week or more.
What to do. Stay reachable, especially Thursday and Friday. Don't follow up before next Tuesday or Wednesday. Bain communicates clearly, so silence past 5 business days is worth a polite recruiter check-in.
Keep other pipelines moving in the meantime.
Good luck.
Hi there,
Hope it went well.
Typically, you hear back in 1-2 weeks. Don't try to read too much into it if it takes longer. Oftentimes, it's some internal issue rather than a reflection of your potential.
Best,
Cristian
