BCG R1 - When should I expect to hear back?

Generally when I was interviewing candidates, we aimed to get back to them within a week, at max 2 weeks. 

If you had 2 interviews, sometimes the delay can be caused by one interviewer not yet filling up the evaluation form.

Also do keep in mind that sometimes interviewers are really busy, and as much as they don't intend to, they may forget or may delay as above. But then that's where recruiting will come and chase them down :)

I think this is an interesting question that may be relevant for many people. I would be happy to share my thoughts on it:

• It's not uncommon that the feedback takes a little longer since your interview was on a Friday. I would advise you to wait for a week before reaching out to the recruiter to inquire about the status of your application.
• In the meantime, I would advise you to focus on other things and keep yourself busy. The wait can be nerve-wracking, but it's important to remember that these things take time and that you have no control over the outcome either way.

Be prepared for it to take a whole month.

Should it take that long? Nope!

Can it? Absolutely!

So, you will hear back from them them tomorrow, or next week, or next month. Please stop worrying and focus on things you can control.

Network with other firms. Apply to other firms. Keep case prepping.

You should apply to 30+ companies.

Q: I read that a lot of people hear back the same day, but I know since it was on a Friday, it would probably take a little longer?

The timeline depends on the office, company and interviewers. 

Usually you hear back within one week with MBB. If that’s not the case, it is fine to contact HR after that to ask for updates.

Don't worry about it. It's totally normal for it to take a few days, even a week. 

Don't assume that if they take longer it somehow reflects on your performance. Most of the time it's because the interviewers didn't yet get a chance to connect and align on whether to progress you to the next round.

Hi there!

Since you interviewed on Friday it is most likely that it is bound to take longer than a day. I would expect for them to take a couple of days or even upto a week!

The interviewers need to meet for a debrief before arriving at a decision and given their busy schedules, it sometimes takes longer than expected. 

It is by no means a reflection of your performance - so don't worry!

It can totally depend on your location but in general for US, Europe and MENA. BCG is not taking more than 3-4 days working days to get back. In special cases it may take more or less days.

You will most probably hear back by the end of next week but it is a bit random. Try to relax and not talk with other people because it will only stress you out.

Hi there,

a lot of people are reporting quite long waiting times to receive feedback. Give it at least 1-2 weeks before you even allow yourself to get nervous. If you get feedback earlier - great. If not, it's not unheard of either - especially in recent times.
