I just advanced to final round interviews. However, no feedback was provided along with the invitation. Does BCG usually provide feedback from R1 if you advance, or is it something they only share if you don’t move forward? I’m trying to get a sense of whether it’s worth asking the recruiter or not.
BCG R1 Feedback

Ask the recruiter.
It's great that you advanced to the second round, but it's important to know whether they noticed anything you should improve. This should be the focus of your prep as you approach R2.
Feedback following R1 is an inconsistent practice. Some offices do it, others don't. So I always recommend my candidates to follow up with the interviewers.
Best of luck with your prep!

Hi there,
By right, one of the R1 interviewer would call you and provide you feedback even when you pass R1. However, sometimes the interviewer might not have had the chance yet (or sometimes people can forget) due to busy work schedule.
It is totally fine to reach out to the recruiting team and see if they can nudge the process, but do it politely. Meanwhile, just continue to prep for the R2.
Best,
Emily
hey, in the same boat myself with Asia office, shall we connect to share experience? Please DM me if you are interested.

No clear answer. Sometimes you get feedback, sometimes you don't.
You can ask for it anyway, no harm in doing that.

hey!
it’s typical not to receive detailed feedback if you advance to the next round. They usually provide feedback only if a candidate is not moving forward.
You can ask the recruiter politely if there’s any insight they can share, but don’t expect detailed comments. Most of the time, they’ll just confirm that you’ve advanced and give logistical info for the next round.
If you want, I can draft a short, professional way to ask the recruiter without sounding pushy.

Hi there,
It's totally normal not to get feedback when you advance and in fact, that’s the most common case. Usually, when candidates do get feedback after R1, it could be because one of the interviewers felt you had potential but didn’t fully show it in the interview, and they wanted to give you pointers to do better in R2. If you didn’t get any, it just means you did well enough to move forward without concerns.

Hi,
It's not always a default, especially given the volume of interviews some firms are conducting nowadays.
Best to reach out to the recruiter to ask for feedback - most of my coachees who have done this have received some sort of feedback (though level of detail varies).
