Question

Hi everyone!
Experienced Hire Consultant FR this passing Friday. Two partners. Fit/rapport felt very strong (1 alum same program).

First case reached the main analysis but not the final recommendation due to time (he laughed and mentioned we chatted too much earlier..).

Second case was stronger overall with one math mistake, although right concept and the REC was still the same.

No call Friday. Anyone have a similar experience and still get an offer Monday or later? Or what is the norm for EH?

I would not worry too much at this stage. It is very early, and a short delay is completely normal, especially if the two interviewers did not yet have time to debrief with HR and align before anyone gets back to you.

Based on what you describe, I would be cautiously positive. The fit was good with both partners, and the two issues do not sound serious to me: running out of time before the final recommendation is not a problem if the structure and thinking were there, and one math mistake is not a big deal either, especially when you had the right approach and reached the same conclusion.

Hi,

Honestly no call on Friday afternoon tells you almost nothing: partners are running client weeks, the recruiter needs both interviewers' write-ups, and EH slates often get compared across a wider pool before anyone picks up the phone. Monday or Tuesday is the normal.

Moreover for EH specifically the fit and rapport piece carries real weight, more than for a normal hire, and two partners feeling good about you matters.

So: nothing you've described looks like a rejection profile. Sit tight through mid-week, and if you've heard nothing by Wednesday, a short note to your recruiter asking about timing is completely appropriate.

First of all, congratulations on the progress in the application process with BCG thus far!

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your situation:

First of all, please don't overthink it. Even if they would've mentioned to come back to you on the same day, silence would still not necessarily mean anything. Especially for experienced hire processes the decision may need more people to align than for a graduate hire, and partners may not always be available for a debrief with recruiting on the same day. Anything between a few days and roughly two weeks is still inside the normal range, and even if it is outside, it doesn't mean anything until you receive feedback.
Moreover, I would stronlgy advise you to stay patient and keep your other application processes running in parallel until you have something in writing. If you have heard nothing by the end of this week, a short and friendly email to your recruiter asking for when you will hear back is completely normal and will not count against you.
