Bain referral system for European office

Hello everyone,

An Associate Consultant working in one of the USA offices has referred me for one of the European offices.

She has referred me yesterday from her system. I asked her whether I will get a link to apply for the Associate Consultant position or is it internal refer to which she said she is not sure but has put in the referral in the system so I should hear soon from the HR team.

1 - Does anyone know how the referral system works at Bain?

2 - Also, how much weight does the referral hold if that is from different office?

Well done on getting a referral!

Ultimately just getting a referral improves your odds considerable. A closer-to-home and higher-level referral doesn't hurt, but you should be happy with this one.

I would wait a week or 2 and if HR doesn't get back to you I'd reach out to confirm.

Hi there. If you're referred in the system, your profile will be sent to one of the recruiters from the target office for reviewing. If he/she thinks your profile is a good fit, you will receive an email regarding next step.

If your referral referred you in the system, it doesn't really matter which office he/she is from. As the objective of referring is to ensure your profile gets the attention from the recruiter, who decides whether to extend interview invite.
