Bain Munich timeline question – TestGorilla done, transcripts submitted, now waiting

Hi all,

I applied to Bain Munich (general consultant) about 5 weeks ago. My profile: MEng + PhD, 2 years of engineering experience.

Timeline:

  • 1 week after applying: received TestGorilla invite → performance was mediocre (not brilliant, not terrible).
  • 1 week later: HR requested uploading transcripts (I hadn’t provided them initially) → uploaded same day.
  • 1 week after that: HR requested bachelor transcript. I explained that my integrated MEng covers the bachelor, and HR replied the same day with a typical friendly/professional note: “Thanks for the clarification. After reviewing all documents, we will get back to you as soon as possible.”

It’s now 14 business days since that reply, and I haven’t received any rejection. My transcripts are strong (top 3 global uni PhD + First class grade in UK undergrad), but I don’t have a referral.

Questions:

  1. Could a mediocre TestGorilla result discredit me, or would HR requesting transcripts suggest it was “good enough”?
  2. Does verifying transcripts usually take a long time?
  3. Has the “likely to invite” window passed, or is there still hope for an interview invite?

I sent a follow-up email to HR today midday but haven’t received a reply yet.

Any insights on typical Bain Munich timing or experiences with similar situations would be greatly appreciated!

Hey there :)

A mediocre score alone usually isn’t a knockout if HR asked for transcripts afterwards from my expeirence.. it means you cleared the first filter. Verifying transcripts can take time, and Bain Munich often has long waits due to batch processing as far as i know. Two to three weeks of silence isn’t unusual, so there’s still a chance for an invite. Your follow-up was the right move, now it’s mostly patience.

best, Alessa :)
