Application timeline

Hello everyone,

How much time does it take for HR to get back to me. I have been referred by an employee at McKinsey for JA position.

Hi there,

Generally it should take a few weeks, though it could take up to a month or two.

I agree with Sofia - if 3 weeks have gone by and you still haven't heard anything, feel free to reach out to HR for an update.

Fingers crossed for you!

Hey there,

Usually within 2 weeks. Be aware, in summer, especially August it could take a little bit longer.

I would nudge them after 3 weeks with a call.

Cheers,

Florian

Hello,

It really depends on the office and where they are in the interview timeline, but I would say any time from a few days to a few weeks. If several weeks go by and you still don't hear anything, it's ok to follow up with whoever referred you.

Typical response time is generally between 24 hours to 3-4 weeks depending on office location, time of the year, application flux, weather, state of the coffee machine etc. etc.

It is also a good idea to push a reminder to HR/recruiting through your contact with whom you have secured the referral. But give them a couple of weeks before you do that. Unless you are in a hurry.

1 week to 3 weeks is a reasonable timeframe for HR to get back to you. July and August are peak months for vacations so do keep that in mind when you reach out to them.

Best,
