Any thoughts about High Bridge Academy?

Hi

I was wondering what are your thoughts about Highbridge Academy. I am looking at conflicting reviews about them on the internet. Some are praising this program saying that it helped them while some are saying it's a scam which doesn't teach you anything, but you have to pay them if you get a job within 2 years of the academy.

Hi there,

I love them! I think they're fantastic.

I've taught for them and think they do a great job. The difference in reviews is in relation to the difference in attendees.

Expectation and work put in is going to be directly correlated with your satisfaction in this course! Happy to put you in touch with some people who attended.

Hi there,

I haven't worked directly with but worked with candidates who interacted with them.

I haven't heard bad things yet.

It rather depends on your priorities and what you want to achieve. What Highbridge does is similar to school, walking you through how to approach cases. Working with a coach, by comparison, gives you a tailored experienced. It's basically 1-to-1 mentoring vs sitting in an auditorium.

Best,
Cristian

What I don't like about their business model is that there's a selection bias.

They will make sure to pick candidates that have a strong chance to get it. I.e., they are already trying to pick the winners. Then, of course, they try to give them a boost. If you think about it, the business model incentivizes them to focus on helping those who need them the least…

On the other hand, it's kind of free if you don't make it, right? So its really about how much you value maximizing your chances.

Good program with some high calibre trainers. In terms of value, it very much depends on what you make out of it - they give you many of the right tools, but of course the candidate has to put in the effort.

If you're looking for more of a curriculum-based teaching, it can be a good, risk-free option for ambitious candidates (with already strong profiles). If you look for look for something more tailored to your situation as well as strengths & weaknesses, working 1on1 with a quality coach will still be the more fruitful path.

Hope this helps.

Regards, Andi
