Compared to ACN Risk, the work is usually more internal‑controls, regulatory, SOX, AML, and process‑risk heavy, with less of the broad transformation flavour you get at Accenture. The upside is faster responsibility, smaller teams, and more client exposure; the downside is that exits tend to be into internal audit, risk management, or compliance roles rather than strategy or high‑level consulting. If your goal is to deepen classic risk/compliance skills, Protiviti ME is a reasonable switch; if your goal is to move toward strategy, transformation, or broader consulting, it’s usually a sideways or even narrower move.
