Hi - has anyone done an Accenture S&C Case Interview? Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated. I heard its less demanding than a MBB/T2 interview but would be great to get insights from those that have done it at Accenture.
Accenture Strategy Consulting (S&C) Case Interview
Hi there,
Accenture Strategy case interviews are generally more structured and less intense than MBB or T2, but they still test clear thinking, business judgment, and communication. Cases are often interviewer-led, with a strong focus on practical problem solving, market understanding and translating analysis into actionable recommendations rather than deep math or abstract strategy.
The best preparation is to be clear and structured, explain your logic step by step and show comfort with ambiguity. Strong communication, stakeholder awareness, and a pragmatic mindset tend to matter more than perfectly optimized frameworks.

That’s a smart question, and you’re right to approach it differently than an MBB or even Tier 2 interview prep. While the foundational skills—structuring, arithmetic, and communication—must be rock-solid, the flavor of the case is distinct.
Here's the reality: The Accenture S&C interview is rigorous, but it tends to be less focused on blank-slate, highly theoretical market-sizing or pure financial optimization. Instead, the cases frequently revolve around implementation feasibility and technology integration. Accenture's value proposition is end-to-end transformation, so they want to see that you don't just recommend a strategy, but that you think about how it actually gets deployed (the people, process, and especially the technology layer). The flow is often more "interviewer-led" or guided, meaning they might advance you through specific phases, unlike a typical Bain case where you own the structure from minute one.
When you structure your answer, make sure one of your key pillars addresses the digital or operational aspect—don't just leave it as a high-level recommendation. Your next steps should focus on creating a roadmap or implementation timeline, not just further analysis. Finally, prepare strong behavioral answers that emphasize resilience and the ability to work collaboratively with large teams and complex client organizations, which is central to Accenture's culture.
All the best with the interview!
hey there :)
I did an Accenture Strategy case interview and also had an offer from Accenture Germany, and overall it is usually a bit less intense than MBB or strong T2 but still very structured. Expect a clear business case with emphasis on logic, communication and practical thinking rather than heavy math tricks, and they care a lot about how you structure and explain your reasoning. Being MECE, confident and client friendly matters a lot, so focus on clarity over complexity. Happy to help more if you have follow up questions.
best,
Alessa :)
I've worked with multiple candidates interviewing and then getting offers with Accenture.
Overall, there is not a big difference in the format of cases compared to the other top firms.
If you have any specific questions about prepping for them, feel free to drop me a line.
Best,
Cristian
Accenture Strategy interviews are generally less intense than MBB or top tier two firms. But "less demanding" does not mean easy. You still need to show structured thinking and solid problem solving.
A few things to know. The cases tend to be more straightforward. Less math gymnastics, fewer curveballs. They often focus on practical business problems, sometimes tied to technology or digital transformation given Accenture's DNA. Expect questions around cost reduction, growth strategy, or operational improvement.
The behavioral side matters more than people expect. Accenture puts real weight on fit and "who you are" as a person. They want to see you can work well with clients and teams. Do not overlook this part of your prep.
One thing that trips people up: because the case feels easier, they get casual. They stop structuring properly or rush through the math. That is a mistake. Treat it with the same discipline you would bring to any case interview. Clear structure, clean logic, confident delivery.
If you have prepped for MBB level, you are likely over-prepared for this. Just stay sharp, do not get sloppy, and you should be fine.
