Accenture Discovery Portal

Hello,

I have been invited to the Accenture Discovery Portal for the Strategy Graduate Program 2027-2028 (London). Do you have any suggestions on what to expect in the test and how to prepare?

Hi,

I would prepare for the Accenture Discovery Portal quite differently from a traditional case interview.

The assessment is usually more focused on how you think and make decisions in a project or client-style environment. I would expect a mix of things such as:

  • Situational judgement: deciding how you would react in different work scenarios.
  • Business/data interpretation: reading charts, tables or short pieces of information and drawing the right conclusion.
  • Prioritisation and decision-making: identifying what matters most and what you would do next.
  • Potentially some strengths or behavioural-style questions.

For preparation, I would focus on three things:

  1. Practise interpreting data quickly
Be comfortable with percentages, ratios, changes over time and extracting the main message from a chart or table.
  2. Use a simple decision framework for scenarios
    Ask yourself:
    • What is the objective?
    • What information matters most?
    • Who are the key stakeholders?
    • What is the most sensible next step?
    • What risk am I trying to avoid?
  3. Think like someone already working on a consulting project
Prioritise responses that show ownership, collaboration, client focus and pragmatism. Avoid overcomplicating the situation or choosing an answer just because it sounds the most “impressive”.

I would not spend too much time memorising classic case frameworks for this stage. The main thing they are testing is whether you can make sensible, structured decisions in a consulting-style environment, not whether you can already run a full strategy case.

If you want, feel free to reach out and I can also share a few more specific tips on how I would approach the situational judgement and data interpretation parts.

Best,
Carlos
