#Hydrogen meetup! Once again, #WorldHydrogen2024 brought together the sector’s global key players for its biggest event. 🚀 #TeamRWE was, of course, right in the middle of it. We can look back on an exciting three days packed with fruitful discussions, forming new connections, and sharing expertise Thanks to each and everyone involved for representing RWE in such a remarkable way! 💪 Also thanks to Sustainable Energy Council for having us! RWE has been named a European Climate Leader 2024. I am very proud that the Financial Times has ranked RWE 5th out of all 36 listed energy companies for our progress in cutting carbon emissions. This is great confirmation and recognition of our company transformation. In the backdrop of the ongoing energy crisis, we have helped ensure security of supply whilst steadfastly continuing to follow and implement our Growing Green Strategy and to decarbonise our portfolio.   To continue along this decarbonisation path, it is, however, vital that the necessary investments are made. Only by switching on sustainable electricity production capacities, it is possible to reduce existing capacities and thus greenhouse gas emissions. That calls for the rapid expansion of renewables, grids and flexible capacities to make our energy systems sustainable and secure. For the energy transition to succeed, it must happen holistically. I wish to congratulate and thank the entire #TeamRWE for what is your shared success. We are certainly making headway and we will keep on being a pacemaker for this transition.

We're pleased to announce that Ocean Infinity has been selected by RWE and Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company) to carry out groundbreaking 3D Ultra High Resolution seismic geophysical surveys at the Dogger Bank South (DBS) West offshore wind farm.   Starting in early June 2024, this skilled team aboard the 'Deep Helder' will explore the seabed at each proposed wind turbine foundation site. RWE starts off 2024 with a solid quarterly result. We saw an increase in earnings in offshore wind, driven by better wind conditions, as well as in onshore wind and solar due to capacity additions. As expected, earnings in the flexible generation segment were below the exceptionally high previous year level. In the first three months of the year, 42% of our electricity generation came from renewable sources. With €2.3 billion net in the first quarter, we invest massively to continue to expand our portfolio. Currently, we have projects with a total capacity of 8.3 gigawatts under construction.

About 1,800 acres of solar power! Our Hickory Solar project, located in Mitchell County, Georgia, is a true renewable powerhouse. This is especially true since the plant, with an installed capacity of around 195 megawatts (MWac), is coupled with a 40 MW (80 MWh) two-hour battery storage system. Hickory Park is one of our many projects in the U.S. We already have a strong presence here, but we aim for more as we consistently work towards expanding our renewable portfolio in the country.

In Sicily, surrounded by olive trees, you can find our onshore wind farm, Selinus. Its 6 turbines generate enough green electricity to power around 22,000 Italian households per year. As our 15th wind farm in Italy, it is also a great testament to the growing renewables footprint we aim to establish in the country.
