HANNOVER MESSE served as a platform to showcase the transformative power of innovation within the industrial sector, featuring cutting-edge technologies and sustainable solutions. We were honored to participate in the event alongside our partners Amazon Web Services (AWS), SAP, and SoftServe. During our onsite content sessions, we explored how AI technologies are reshaping industrial production processes, and how companies can unlock full potential in their digital transformations. Insights from our experts at the event include: 🎯 The focus should shift from simply the "what" of new technologies to the critical "how" of effectively scaling and implementing them ✨ Successful integration of AI and digital solutions goes beyond adopting the latest tech to navigating the complexities of scaling and maximizing impact ⏰ There is a need for a strategic shift towards developing faster, smarter, and more connected equipment, with generative AI driving innovation Exciting times lie ahead as the industry moves towards smarter machinery. We look forward to next year’s Hannover Messe! #HM24 #DigitalTransformation #AI

Timothy Tan, Bain Alum, Chicago, Co-Founder of Agrata “I joined Bain Chicago as an Associate Consultant in 2017. In my two years at the company, I requested as many agriculture cases as possible as I had always had a long-standing interest in the sector. My experience at Bain was fundamental for me as it gave me the crucial analytical tools that I would later employ in my entrepreneurial journey. At Bain, I learned to work guided by True North, a principle that I would later apply with investors, employees, and partners. After two years at Bain, I established Agrata with two close friends in Singapore. Agrata is an aquaculture company building a sustainable mud crab production value chain. The industry as it exists today is over 90% wild catch based, causing overfishing and volatile prices in a supply starved market. We decided to shift this paradigm and establish end-to-end sustainable aquaculture for the species by first targeting a key bottleneck, the lack of an industrial scale hatchery for the species. Collaborating with our Chief Scientific Officer, a world renown expert in mud crab, we built a recirculating aquaculture hatchery that has now proven, after months of testing, that it is possible to produce mud crabs on an industrial scale. We now work with partners to supply young mud crabs to be raised on their farm sites before we process and sell them to the global market. With the establishment of our first ground operations in the Riau Islands of Indonesia, we have kept two key ESG goals top of mind among others. The first is to significantly displace the wild catch of mud crabs. The second is to work with our partners to ensure that farm sites preserve surrounding mangrove ecosystems. If someone were to ask for a singular piece of advice on becoming an entrepreneur, I would say it’s most important to choose your partners and employees wisely. It’s vital to work with people with whom you can be upfront and lean upon them in areas you yourself are deficient in. Always stay humble and remember that the likelihood is that you don’t know most things. There’s always room to learn from others.” #atBain #BainAlum
