Hello!

On top of the insights already shared in the post, the "Integrated FIT guide for MBB" has been recently published in PrepLounge´s shop (https://www.preplounge.com/en/shop/tests-2/integrated-fit-guide-for-mbb-34)

It provides an end-to-end preparation for all three MBB interviews, tackling each firms particularities and combining key concepts review and a hands-on methodology. Following the book, the candidate will prepare his/her stories by practicing with over 50 real questions and leveraging special frameworks and worksheets that guide step-by-step, developed by the author and her experience as a Master in Management professor and coach. Finally, as further guidance, the guide encompasses over 20 examples from real candidates.

Feel free to PM me for disccount codes, since we still have some left from the launch!

McKinsey / ex-Interviewer at McKinsey / I will coach you to rock those interviews

A some version of that question can be a part of McKinsey Entrepreneurial Drive Dimension.

It’s good to give a work example here and highlight the following:

  • Before you came things were always done in this old conventional way – then you saw it and you came up with a better idea how to do it
  • You then executed on it even though nobody asked you to (it was your own initiative)
  • People recognised the value of your solution and found it helpful

Best,
Daniel

I defined, launched and managed a social collaboration tool for the entire group. In 2013, social collaboration was not yet as popular as it is today (after Corona).

During my PhD I used an innovative tool to monitor a process in real-time which required collaboration across two different labs. The main challenge was to convince both parties about my approach and start with a good hypothesis. This required data collection from literature and effective communication with good PowerPoint slides. The results of this study will be published in a top tier journal.

We were working on creating a self-supporting mechanism made of metal to hold 2 nozzles in one place with 1 degree of freedom. Instead of drilling holes or any other process, we simply welded 2 set of flat metal strips in a way through which the nozzle could be moved as well as fixed.

One time at a university fair, there was a stand showing the newest technology of motion-capturing cameras, like the ones used in video games, and while interacting with the software and seeing how it can detect our body movements, one of the students asks the presenter if it could detect people if they were not standing, for example, upside down, the presenter proposed to try it out and the student started doing barrel wheels to see if the camera still detects him, so I went to the camera and fliped it upside down. I though it was quite obvious but apparently people present were impressed by this innovation.
