Hi all,

Random question: Is the signing bonus typically given immediately after signing or spread across your first year for MBB/Big4?

Bain | passed >15 MBB interviews as a candidate

It's paid directly, but typically you'll have to repay pro rata if you leave within the first 12/18/24 months.

Hi there,

It is paid directly. Depends on how you're being hired, but some will receive it the first money they start, and others will receive it the month they sign (for example, I signed after my internship and received the bonus 1 full year before starting).

Remember, if you leave before the lockout period (generally between 12 and 24 months) you have to pay it back...and you've already paid taxes on it.

Paid immediately on joining but if you leave within 6/12 months, pro-rated amount will be deducted. Check the specifics with HR.

Depends on firm (and maybe even location?). My friend received an offer for Bain London and got hers the week she signed even though she's starting in a couple of months, while I'll be getting mine with my first month salary when I start at BCG Dubai
