Hello,

i wanted to ask what happens if one of the interviewers during round 1 gives a yes while the other one gives a no. Essentially the vibe I got from the interview.

do you progress into the 2nd round?

Hello,

It really depends on how strong the yes and no were. In any case, it can be hard as a candidate to assess how the interview went - hopefully the “no” might be a “maybe”.

Hi there,

You will generally not progress.

It depends how strong the “no” and “yes” are though. A strong yes (someone really defending/backing you) and a “meh. not sure, didn't love” might get you through.

I'm telling you “vibe” is so so hard to read! The result might be the exact opposite for all you know.

Easier said than done, but try to not think about this. Focus on what you can do…as in, improve/work on your current weaknesses!

Short answer: No you will not proceed to the next round. Generally speaking, each interviewer has to be convinced with your performance and should say yes. If there is a no, then it might not work in your case.

Personal exp: Round 1 BCG interview, I had issues in the first interview with tech but was able to complete the case. Although performance could have been much much better. For the second interview, I was able to complete the case in less than 15 min and was vibing with the interviewer for the remaining 20 mins. I got the next round.

Hi!

Unfortunately, it's very hard to tell it with certainty.

You usually need 2 yes to move further with the process but other situations are also possible.

Good luck,

Anto

Most likely you may not progress in such a situation.

However, judgement is not really as a strong yes or weak yes etc.

The judgement is score based. If your score in any of the evaluation pillars and any of the interviews falls below a tolerance threshold - you will not progress.
