Hello!

I have got a referral from a Principal and the application went through the HR. How long is usually the HR process? How much is the probability to go to the interview? Thank you!

Hi,

  1. Depends on the local office. From a day to a month
  2. Pretty high (80-90%)

Best

Hello Vlad! I actually had a very different experience when all other conditions were met, but CV was rejected on the HR screening step. Still struggling to understand why..

Hi A,

Applying with referral maximizes your chances a lot. Regarding the time - it may differ from geography, office and situation

Best,

Ex-MBB, Experienced Hire; I will teach you not only the how, but also the why of case interviews

Vlad's 1st answer ("from a day to a month") is usually correct. Please realize there's also a long tail - my own application took a few months actually.

Probability of interview... assuming the Principal is respected and recommendation is heartfelt / supported in fact, likelihood pretty high indeed. if Principal is not well liked, recommendation not sincere or of the "I've seen Anonymous A once, 6 years ago I think", likelihood of interview drops significantly as you can imagine.

Hi there,

1) A referral can be a great instrument that helps you secure an interview invite.

However, it is not a 100% guarantee that you eventually get an offer because some points and effort must be given from your side as well.

The question is: How much do you really want to get the job? Of course, it is better to provide yourself with a referral for the targeted firm. Otherwise, you can not even get invited.

2) Usually it is very individually, from 1 day up to 1 month
