On McKinsey final round, do you get interviewed exclusively by partners from the office you're applying for?
Overview of answers
Hey there,
I would say in 80-90% of the cases...With Zoom and remote interviews, this figure has decreased, however.
In the end, it does not matter since the McKinsey hiring process is highly standardized and objective across offices, interviewers, and even continents.
All the best with your final round!
Kind regards,
Florian

I've also been interviewed by EMs in second round. And it might happen that other partners that are not officially located in the specific office you're interviewing. Not typical, but somebody might jump in if calendars change on short notice.
Though on a higher note: This question shouldn't be relevant for your preparation process. Your preparation is exactly the same for interviews with managers, partners from any office.
Hey there!
In most of the cases, it will be partners exclusively. However, there might be some exceptions, depending on the office.
Wish you all the best,
GB
Hi there,
No necessarily. While It's mostly Partners and those from your office, it could be those 1 level below and from nearby (i.e. same country) offices.
Generaly. A few points:
- Firstly, often AP's and Sr. Partners, too.
- Secondly, if you are applying to a practice, it won't necessarily be the same office.
- Finally, there can always be exceptions.
Best of luck!
Allen
Hi there,
Usually it is either Associate Partners or Partners of your target office. However, you can definitely get partners from other countries as well, in particular if you are interviewing for a specific practice (eg operations).
Best,
