BCG Interview

I applied for BCG as an experienced hire 3 weeks ago. Didn't receive update.

Therefore I emailed 2 HRs asking for status update.

One of the HRs replied: You have been shortlisted, team will contact you on the next steps.

The other HR replied: *** (Another HR's name) has screened your resume, he is looking forward to connecting with you.

Then I emailed the third HR who screened my CV, saying I'm willing to speak with him etc.

But there is no reply from that HR.

It's been 2 days. I know that it takes time for them to reply, but I'm wondering if "you have been shortlisted" necessarily lead to interview?

I'm eager for this role thus being a bit paranoid for this application.

Hi Anonymous,

if you have been shortlisted, you should move to the next step in the process (not necessarily the case interview – it may be a test or an HR interview). I would recommend not to contact HR further at this stage. In case they don’t contact you in two/three weeks, you can simply follow-up at that time.

Best,

Francesco

I understand your anxiety in getting information and know it's not easy. The best thing to do would be to wait a week before emailing them again.

I would caution against reading too much into words such as short listed. People often say one thing and mean another, and you'll get caught up in word interpretation. Maybe you can ask someone you know at BCG to also follow up on your behalf?

Hi,

"Shortlisted" is not the official definition so nobody can give you guarantee you an interview based on these words. You should wait
