I recently received a call after my final round at an MBB and was told they really like me and I would be a great fit, however, one more candidate needs to go through the interview process before they can extend me an offer. The other candidate hasn't even had their first round interview yet.

Should I just sit tight and wait (don't really want to continue interview elsewhere), or is there something I can do to move this along? Even though they said my scores were great and they were really impressed with me, I assume this means I had some room for improvement. Or maybe I am just reading too much into it and they actually just want to see how this other person compares?

Hi,

This situation is very unusual for an MBB company. At least for a generalist role.

I guess the only thing you can do in that situation - get another offer and use it as a leverage.

Best!

Hi Vlad, this has been the case for me as well. Do you have any further information about this for MBB firms?
