London office is extremely competitive, so no guarantees here. It's also hard to stand out during the internship. So I would rather rely on transferring later after you work several years full-time. Several things you should consider:

• Working on projects in FS, retail, healthcare - typical London industries
• Working on projects in London before transferring
• Being a top performer (not standard)
• Having a partner in London

Pls keep in mind that the salaries in London are much lower than in Europe. The difference is significant

Best is to apply in London directly and avoid hassles of transfers etc. London is hyper competetive and this combined with Brexit and Covid is not going to make things any easier in the next 12 months at least.

UK market is picking up and I strongly recommend you apply through referrals in the target firms.

I don’t think it is completely impossible, but I believe is quite difficult to do the transition right after an internship given how competitive London is. On the other hand, you should be able to make the move after a few years. I know several people who moved after the MBA to a new location.

If you want to be sure to be in London from the beginning, the best thing is to apply for the internship there. Although you have to take into account it could be more difficult to get the internship in the first place given it is likely more competitive than your home country.

There is a slight chance that all you have mentioned above is going to happen due to the situation in the world now and London office being competitive. It still might happen, but could take more time and definitely not right after the internship.

Find a referal to increase your chances and apply for an internship there directly.

There are cases, where such transfers of offers have happened, but they remain the exception. You will typically need to have a really strong reason to do so, and even then it typically depends on the capacity of the receiving office. Companies generally don't want you to (a) try to rig the system by applying to uncompetitive offices to then try to transfer internally, and (b) go through a very cost-intensive application and recruiting process with one office, just for that office then to lose the fruits of their hard work.

Bottom line: apply where you want to be directly. It's the safer path.

Indeed you can transfer offices between the intership and the full time offer (I know cases Madrid-Paris of that same circumpstance).

However, the question here is, why not applying to London directly? If you have the link there, you should have a similar chance in that office.

I have never seen it. It usually requires a couple of years in the 1st office before asking for a transfer. Otherwise, you need to pass again the interview process
