I would be joining the MBA program next year in UK & I’m thinking apply for MBA internships in MBB & other consulting firms .Since the internships are for penultimate year students & majority of MBA programs in UK are 1 year , so when one can apply for it also what are the other eligibility requirements .
Any advice and suggestions?

You need to talk to both the MBA program(s) and the consulting firms!
I don't fully understand your timing question, but MBA programs start in September, so even if you apply to MBB now, you won't start until January, meaning you'll have <8-9 months at the firm.
This question would be best asked to the alumni from the B-school you are going to join, and also to the school authorities.
You should check this with the school. You may have a long summer break, or internships may be common at the end of the program. Check with them.
It depends on the school and the start date. Some schools have a January start for the 1 yr program allowing for a summer internship in the middle. In general though you are right you will not really have the opportunity to intern if you do a 1 yr MBA program.
Always good to ask the school this question as well or any alumni from the school.
