I am a lateral hire at McKinsey and I passed all the rounds of the general consultancy interviews. I am in the running for an Expert role in Analytics (this is NOT part of McKinsey Solutions!) . Since this is a more techical role than a generalist, I will also get a Technical Experience Interview with a partner. There is not a lot of information out there on those interviews out there. Has anyone been through any of those?
Is there anyone who has experience with a Technical Experience Interview at McKinsey?
In general, these interviews are not that hard. You should know:
- Latest trends in your field
- Key analytics instruments and examples of how you applied these tool in your past
- Applicability to different industries
I think the best way to prepare is to find the relevant technical articles and knowledge nuggets on McKinsey official site - they have plenty of them
I have the same interview in 5 days with the Analytics group as well. Could you tell me what was part of the interview?
