Hello all, I'm considering the internship positions between MBB SEA (say Malaysia) and Adobe customer success manager in California US.

I still do not really think through about the long-term career but just want to ask if I go to MBB in South East Asia, will it boost my chance to get an interview at MBB USA or big tech for a full-time position post-MBA (tier 25 US)?

Hi there,

I would say your #1 consideration really should be your long-term career goals - be careful not to overlook this!

Now, in terms of your move, there are 2 contradictory items for you to be aware of.

1) Yes, an MBB role anywhere in the world boosts your chances for roles around the world. MBB is a very powerful brand, so it would be hard to turn down this offer!

2) That said, be very very careful with an assumption that you can “just move” when you want. Visas, job openings, etc. are all variable and require timing/luck/persistence. I made the mistake in the past to take roles that I thought would ultimately get me back to the city/country I wanted - they didn't.

So, just be careful here! Recognize that the journey back to the US might take some time and isn't necessarily an immediate lock 2-3 years down the road post-MBB.

Yes, any formal experience at an MBB will boost your chances for an interview post your MBA. This applies to both consulting roles and non-consulting roles.

Best,

Yes, MBB will improve your chances more than that role at Adobe for BOTH MBB and Tech companies in the US.

If that is the only criteria, it should be the best option.
