Hi there,

First of all, congratulations on the offers!

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

I would highly advise you to opt for the option that better aligns with your professional (and maybe even personal) mid- to long-term goals. In order to make an informed decision, I would advise you to do the following:

  • Weigh the different criteria that are meaningful to you independently of the current options (e.g., prestige, culture, international exposure, compensation, location). After that, score the two options based on your criteria and their weighting, resulting in two scores. This way, you have covered the left-brain perspective.
  • Critically assess your initial reaction to the outcome of the scores. For instance, if you feel the urge to tweak the numbers, this is a solid indicator that you do not want this decision to become reality. This way, you have covered the right-brain perspective.
  • By doing so, you will be able to integrate both parts of the brain into the decision-making, guaranteeing a higher chance that you will still be happy with it years later.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to address your specific situation, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

I recognize this question ;)

I view this in two ways:

Appearance (Title)

Experience (Substance)

The 2nd offer sounds really nice/important (good title on your resume) BUT the role doesn't sound all that great (substance). It seems like you'll be sort of left to the side and not have important roles.

The 1st offer doesn't sound like strategy, but it truly is! So, the experience bullet points would be fantastic on your resume AND you would just generally have a good experience there and learn a lot.

I vote #1. But you knew this already :)

Tbh both sound fine. Probably both opportunities will give you enough content to phrase 3 compelling bullet points on your achievements in your CV, so I don't hink you can make a decision just based on the profile description.

To optimize for your objective, my main concern would be the company. If both are equally attractive (large, multinational luxury brand companies), chose the one that you feel personally more excited about.

Hi there,

I think your decision should be based only on your inner feelings.

The first one seems more interesting. I assume with this job you could achieve your career goal in the future. The second offer can also give you a great experience as you would work directly with the Strategic Project Manager. This job gives an opportunity to acquire analytical thinking.

Have you decided already?

All the best,

GB

Hi,

I believe every project has some learning experience. Its the aspiration and the personal touch that we provide makes the different to our learning process. Personally if I were you, I would pick up the 2nd one because it will help you appreciate the nuances of a transformation program. Transformation programs are not easy to handle given that these are multi year implementation programs where-in there is hell lot of chaos, inter- dependencies, huge list of stakeholders who will cross your path and then getting people to change, infact the toughest part.

So without a doubt, pick up the 2nd option as the takeaways will be significant and will add value to your credential even if you are planning to for a Master's in Strategy and enter MBB later.

Thanks
