Hi İrem,

GPA is important but not the only criteria of CV assessment. Uncommon backgrounds like yours are being more and more appreciated in recent years, especially in BCG. As I mentioned some minutes ago to another candidate (https://www.preplounge.com/en/consulting-forum/help-needed-5216), international and entrepreneurial experiences are the aspects recruiters want to find in the best applications. Therefore your activities have been assessed as extremely interesting :)

Now focus on case preparation!

Good luck,

Antonello

Hi İrem,

definitely not common, usually you are selected for a single office and proceed with the interview process for that only.

In terms of why you passed the screening there may be multiple reasons, the following are some potential answers:

  • HR favoured your lifescience background
  • HR favoured the leadership experience
  • The two offices are looking for more candidates than usual as there is a pick of demand

I agree this is also uncommon though given the low GPA, unless you had a referral.

Best,

Francesco

Thank you for the reply. But I don't have any referrals.

Hi,

There can be multiple reasons:

  • If you selected multiple offices in your application - they can be assessing you for both
  • Otherwise, it can be just the recruiting team that is spread out

Thank you for the reply. What I wondered was why they would have let me pass the CV screening even though I am from an unusual major with a low GPA. And I wondered if they let many people like me pass to this round.
