Hello everybody,

I have been referred by an EM (Mckinsey) on 3rd Feb for two offices. However, I have not heard back from any of the offices. Should I wait for another week or should I follow up?

In case of follow-up, whom should I follow up with, referrer or HR?

Hi there,

You can definitely followup after 1 month – so starting from 3rd of March would be fine.

In terms of who to contact:

  1. If you have a good connection with the person referring you, I would contact him/her first
  2. If not, or cannot reach him/her, I would call the office with the “excuse” to check if they received correctly your application

Best,
Francesco

Hello!

I would reach out next week, since it would have been a month already.

Furthermore, I would try to reach out first to the EM kindly, before HR

Hope it helps!

Cheers,

Clara

Hi there ,

you can follow up next week - both EM or HR will work!

Definitely follow up with the referrer next week who will be able to follow up with HR on your behalf. Different offices will have different recruiting timelines but 3-4 weeks is usually enough time for a recruiter to make an initial decision on whether they are keen for you to interview or not.

Hi there,

I agree with Ken - reach out next week. I would call if you have their number.
