Hi guys,

I hear that BCG has something called fast track promotion for associates to consultant position.

How do they select whom to put onto this fast track?

What is needed in terms of skills to be considered for it.

Former BCG interviewer

At NAR CDC never heard of it. Fastest time to C from A0 was 24 months.

Hi,

This is region dependent on how many they choose to fast promote.

In Asia, there is also a Senior Associate role. The normal progression is Associate (2 yrs) → Senior Associate (1 yr) → Consultant

Fast promotion is typically minus 3 months off the normal progression. So 21 months from A to SA, and 9 months from SA to C.

Hope this helps to clarify.

Hi there,

Yes there is a fast track, at least in Asia and Europe regions where I have worked or have close friends working - it works like any other promotional pathway for strong performers.

If you consistently perform exceptionally on your case work and get performance reviews that rank you consistently in the top of your cohort, you will be considered for faster promotion.

The best advice I can give is work hard on your projects, build strong relationships with you case leadership (managers, partners) as well as with key client members, and find a good mentor at the firm who can coach you on your performance in a safe environment.

Hope it’s helpful!

Jack
