Hello All,

I am a lateral hire and have an upcoming interview with EY-Parthenon for their SaT-Private Equity Practice. I have the Case and Fit Interview on the same day and wanted to know if the case interview only covers Market Sizing or can it be a Business Case as well? I don't want to burn too many calories by working on cases that aren't relevant for EYP.

Position: Consultant

Geography: USA

Round: Final

Hello!

Agree with the other coaches: unfortunately, the scope is much wider than market sizing, and you need to prep yourself for a wiiide range of business problems.

Cheers,

Clara

Hi there,

I helped a few candidates for EYP in the US and they had both estimation/market sizing and standard cases.

If you need help please feel free to PM me, I know several real questions they asked specifically at EYP US.

Best,

Francesco

Hi there,

Please please please do not assume you will only do market sizing!

You need to be prepared for a business case.

I understand your desire to “not burn calories” but be careful with something so fundamental! Now, if HR has explicitly said there will be no case, then you should be ok, but unless they have specifically told you this you should be ready for anything!

Here's some case reading to get you started: https://www.preplounge.com/en/articles/how-to-shift-your-mindset-to-ace-the-case

Hi there,

agree with the other coaches - be open to other types of cases as well. Very likely your interviews will go beyond just sizing questions.

Hello!

It will definitely be more than a market sizing.

Most cases I've seen have at least one brainstorming question (e.g. what is driving market growth? what could the company do to achieve X?), sometimes more, and several charts for interpretation.

And while a specific “approach”/overall structure may not be asked, in fact you will benefit from being able to create one to deal with the “chart interpretation” part (because it's not only about interpreting the individual slide, but to actually being able to understand how the multiple slides “mesh” together).
